Multiannual Financial Framework 2014-2020: defend investment in education and training!
In the framework of the on-going negotiations on the Multiannual Financial Framework 2014-2020, EUCIS-LLL strongly defends investment in education and training as a key element of the Europe 2020 strategy for inclusive growth and jobs. While figures for the different budget headings are soon to be released by the Cypriot Presidency, EUCIS-LLL advocates to prevent budget cuts for Erasmus for All and the European Social Fund, two major tools for lifelong learning. Stufies have indeed shown that the reform of education systems providing for citizens’ adequate skills required by the labour market could increase Member States’ GDP by 10% in the long term.
