EUCIS-LLL calls for a renewed Memorandum on Lifelong Learning
For the 12th anniversary of the publication of the European Commission’s “Memorandum on Lifelong Learning”, considering new paradigms in times of economic crisis, EUCIS-LLL published a call to renew this document of reference. Its aim is to lay down general principles of a strong political coordination in education and training between Member States and their implementation of lifelong learning strategies. Divided in four main parts, EUCIS-LLL’s call comes back to the key messages of the Memorandum in 2000 and the main points that need to be stressed again. Lifelong learning is indeed still a structuring element for competitive societies but also and above all for personal development, social inclusion and active citizenship.
