SOLIDAR reacts to the proposals on a European Pillar for Social Rights
On 8 March, the European Commission presented its communication on a public consultation on the European Pillar of Social Rights, accompanied by an outline of the Pillar as well as two staff working documents: one on key economic, labour market and societal trends and one on the EU social acquis. This process is part of the ongoing “Deepening the Economic and Monetary Union (EMU)” and foresees a final proposal for the Pillar early next year. Three main headings will be targeted: equal opportunities and access to the labour market; fair working conditions; adequate and sustainable social protection.
