Europe in crisis: deconstructing stereotypes in media, 5 February 2016
Was the crisis Europe went through in 2015 (the financial crisis, the Greek crisis, the flow of migration, terrorism…) perceived in the same way in France and Germany? The objective of the symposium is to compare the way in which it was mediatised on both sides of the Rhine. The idea is to work together for a day to suggest means of action to guide the audience, especially youth, in decomposing the information received to undersatnd its underlying meaning, in the overarching fight against stereotypes and discrimination. The symposium, organised by the Ligue de l’Enseignement in partnership with the OFAJ and AWO, will take place on 5 February in Paris. Its working languages will be French and German (with translation). Part of the travel and accommodation fees can be refunded, in the limit of available spaces.
