30th European Students’ Convention and Second Annual PASCL Conference
On the 28-30 September, the European Students’ Union (ESU) organised the 30th European Students’ Convention. The aim of the Convention was to provide a better understanding of the European higher education agenda after the Yerevan ministerial conference while focusing on the Student-Centered Learning (SCL) approach. On top of hosting a debate on the topic in the European Parliament with European Commission officials and representatives of the main stakeholders organisations, ESU presented to its members the Peer Assessment of Student-Centred Learning (PASCL) project it is coordinating. The Convention was also an opportunity for ESU to open a debate between the European Education and Culture Commissioner Tibor Navracsics and student organisation representatives. Finally, multiple panels with European officials and many stakeholders were held in order to discuss the Bologna process and its future, to explore the aftermath of the Paris Declaration and to identify the role of higher education in light of the recent refugee crisis.
