The CULT Committee promoting youth entrepreneurship through education and training
On 14 July 2015 the CULT Committee members voted on the draft report: “Promoting youth entrepreneurship through education and training”, Rapporteur: Michaela Šojdrová (EPP). The Report calls for education systems to include the aspects of entrepreneurship in the curricula at all levels and for the EU and the European Commission to support and coordinate this process methodologically and financially, notably through the ERASMUS+ Programme. Particular attention is paid to the training of teachers, informal learning and the practical dimension of learning, i.e. on a project basis in cooperation with the private sector and entrepreneurs. The draft report was adopted (19 in favour, 7 against, 2 abstentions) and we are now waiting for the committee decision. What is more, the CULT members considered the draft opinion on “Skills policies for fighting youth unemployment”, Rapporteur Zdzisław Krasnodębski (ECR). The deadline for tabling amendments was on 15 July 2015.
