MEP Marie-Christine Vergiat defends a sustainable funding for European organisations at CULT Committee
MEP Marie-Christine Vergiat (GUE, FR), shadow rapporteur for the new proposal “Erasmus for all”, intervened on 10 July in the CULT Committee and voiced the concern of European organisations on their need to have permanent EU funding. She found regrettable that despite several votes of the Parliament in this direction, the Commission and the Council had not tackle the European statute of associations. Mr Demosthenous, Cypriot Minister for Education and Culture, said this permanent funding had been a concern and his team would discuss in the Council how they can truly support organisations in need.
