Luxembourg takes over Council of the EU Presidency
On 1 July 2015, Luxembourg took over the Presidency of the Council of the EU
from Latvia, for the 12th time in its history. In a threefold approach, focused on citizens, businesses and cooperation with partners and institutions in order to act in the interests of Europe, its priorities
will be to stimulate investment for growth and employment, to deepen the European Union’s social dimension, to manage migration, combining freedom, justice and security, to revitalise the single market by focusing on its digital dimension, to replace European competitiveness in a global and transparent framework, to promote sustainable development and strengthen the European Union’s presence on the global stage.
