Commission launches Country-specific recommendations to Member States
In the framework of the European Semester (see EUCIS-LLL infonote), the European Commission adopted last week Country-Specific Recommendations to EU Member States. These recommendations follow up on the priorities set by the Annual Growth Survey 2013, published in early spring. They are based on detailed analyses of each country’s situation and provide guidance to governments on how to boost their growth potential, increase competitiveness and create jobs in 2013-2014. Education and Training were mentioned as an essential tool to bridge the skills mismatch, and thus as a priority sector for investment.
