Discovering Diversity, a methodology to explore the history of migrants
Discovering Diversity is an educational project on the history of migrants in the Euro-Mediterranean area. The main objective is the development of a methodology that helps teachers of history and civic studies to connect the individual history of students to the local and larger history of migration in the Euro-Med region. Exploring the different layers of community history will lead to the discovery of multiple facets of identity, will empower communities and provide tools to history and civics educators to teach complex issues through a process of personal discovery and reflection. The case studies and teaching and learning ideas developed within the Discovering Diversity project are the first modules for the People on the Move theme on the Historiana website, a EUROCLIO initiative under development which offers access to a multitude of historical sources and well developed teaching and learning ideas on European history and heritage.
